Modest Fashion : Back to School!

Hey Girls!

I don't mean to scare you guys with school stuff, but I thought you might like some BTS shopping suggestions!

I am going to look for these things, give or take a few:

2 pairs of jeans one bootcut, one straight leg

3-4 casual shirts

1 nice church outfit

2 light cardigans

3 tank tops/camis

1 collared lighter coat

1 winter coat

1 sweat shirt

This is coming from a girl who is getting rid of a lot of clothes too. Try to get rid out everything that is:

1. too small (especially if it's immodest)
2. unwearable (duh)
3. something you never wear

That sure clears out a ton of my clothes!

Good luck and have fun shopping!

Music: Johnny Diaz- More Beautiful You

Have you heard the song More Beautiful you? It is about a girl who wants to be like all these magazine models, but she realizes that God made her the way He wants. And she is happy with herself again. The music video is really cool.

Tanning Warning!

Hey Girls!

I'm sure you've all read in the news how bad tanning beds are for you. But guess what? Sun tanning is bad for you too. It can cause melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer, wrinkles at age 20, and awful burnt skin when you're older. If you get just one peeling burn, in childhood it doubles your risk of skin cancer when your older. SPF 30 sunscreen on your body is recommended EVERY DAY by many dermatologists (skin doctors) . I use SPF 70 on my face every day.

One thing that people always say in articles like this is to use a spray tan. Coming from a girl who's has printer-paper-white skin, I can tell you: It's okay to be pale. Don't tan to blend in with the crowd. So be proud of(or at least at protect by SPF) your skin and don't let the sun destroy it.

Movie Review: The Robe

Have you seen the movie: The Robe?? It is about a Roman Soldier who helped to crucify Jesus. While casting lots for his garments, he won the robe Jesus wore. But each time he touched it, it would burn him. This Robe changed his whole life and eventually this soldier was martyred by the Roman Empire. It is very good!!!

A book: Joni

Have you heard of the book: Joni? It is very good and I am almost done with it. It is about a girl who breaks her neck in a swimming accident and becomes paralyzed. She uses her faith to help her through it all. She eventually learns how to paint with her mouth and becomes a great artist.

Movie Review: Facing the Giants

This is a great movie. It's Christian, it's about this high school football team who hasn't won a game in 6 years. Suddenly, they find them selfs playing in the State Championships they are amazed. After a miraculous season, with a wonderful ending, all the players are closer to God and each other.

Cool Website!

Hey Girls!

A while ago, my little bro and I were playing a game on a kids website, when the character on the game had a word bubble(you know, like in comics) that had bad language. I was shocked that they would put it on a kid's website. So, I searched the web for games that are appropriate but not babyish. I found phatmass.com for Catholic games. Pope Wars is fun, because you pretend to be the Pope and have to handle certain situations.

Modest Fashion : Summer Essentials

Hey Girls!

Here is your guide to the three things to modest-fy your summer wardrobe!

1. Camisoles or tanks tops. These are great for wearing under low-cut shirts. I personally love Gap ones.

2. Swim suit coverups. These are good for putting on if you want to take a break from swimming at the beach, becuas eeven if your siut is modest, it's still good to cover up.

3. Capris. Not only are they modest, they are great for cooler summer days. I'm not saying you can only wear capris to be modest, just that they are the most modest option.

Movie Review: The Blind Side

The Blind Side is a very uplifting movie. It is a touching story(and true!) story about a boy who lives on his own and is helped by a generous family that lives nearby. It is PG-13, though so check with your parents before watching this inspiring movie.

Frozen Grapes

Freeze some grapes overnight and you'll have a cool snack the next day.

Pour some lemonade into popsicle molds and let freeze. So good!

Chocolate Banana

Get some microwavable fondue chocolate (super easy to find at supermarkets), melt it according to package directions , coat bananas with it. Let freeze on wax paper in freezer.
